# Nourishing Immunities

It was a regular Sunday morning and I had been chilling at my mother's beautiful house in Kerala.

There was a reminder on my phone about a session on "Building immunity in challenging times' which I did not want to miss. Its so true that immunity is not just for physical nourishment but also for the mental & emotional strengthening.

Each day reading & hearing news related to the loss of lives and the trauma thereafter due to the pandemic has been overwhelming.

Sharing genuine & complete information with the doctor whom one consults helps in finding a proper solution. 'During these testing times trauma is also caused due to misplaced beliefs', said Dr Harsh a soft spoken and straight forward Physician. He matched completely with Sundari's views when she said, 'Listen to your own body before rushing out for a quick fix remedy as coming out of denial is the first step to acceptance.'

Sundari was the charming bright eyed therapist who was hosting the live show on instagram.

The combination of the two people in discussion gave out such explicit understanding on the intended session.

How true it is that immunity is a long term process achieved through prolonged practice. A two minutes Pranayam  just one day cannot enhance meditational effect nor can popping of a multivitamin pill have a magical transformation on anyone. There is no short cut to achieve immunity- be it physical, mental or emotional. Our mental psyche impacts our body so keep it positive and trust your positive instincts.

I decided to resume the two minutes deep breath activity by setting a reminder after every two hours. I must build a strong immune system as Nourishing immunities is indeed part of my self care now.

I am so thankful to Dr.Harsh & Sundari for this takeaway who also once again reaffirmed my belief in the Magic of Gratitude.

When we take the time to re-connect with ourselves, replace our fears with trust, and learn to let go of the things we cannot control, this is taking care.

When we listen to our intuition, embrace all of our imperfections, and stay authentic to who we are, this is taking care.

When we ground ourselves in the present and make mental space to find clarity, this is taking care.

When we discover our interior barriers and find courage to dissolve them, this is taking care.

When we learn to be gentle with ourselves, this is truly taking care.

  2. An absolute truth, that we either tend to ignore or listen to the advertising media rather than sparing time to listen to ourselves to strengthen our immune system. Positivity is the need of the hour.
    Well said Rekhaji.
